Only one key

Master key system

Too many keys to manage? Are duplicates getting out of hand? Are your key rings too heavy? Access control in public, commercial and residential buildings guarantees flexibility, security and convenience.

Maximum convenience

The great advantage of master key systems is that they are practical, especially in buildings with several entrances, as they grant access to all communal areas and your own private space with a single key.

All keys have the same combination of elements in the first part of the key to access communal areas. In the final part, a unique, customised combination allows for differentiated access to private entrances.

Lots of keys?

Keys open up possibilities while keeping us safe at the same time.
When you have too many keys in a bunch, they can become a problem, especially when they are lost or stolen or you have lots of different keys and their copies to handle.

The solution?

Fewer keys, greater convenience and security. CISA master key systems are the most convenient and value-for-money solution to control all accesses. They ensure maximum security and protection of buildings and grant access only to those with authorisation.

How does it work?

It allows you to configure keys and cylinders so the same key opens several doors, thanks to multiple customised combinations. It offers benefits and applications for detached houses, apartment buildings with several communal entrances or facilities that need a hierarchical system to control access.

A master key system

It consists of a key and cylinders and the relationship created between the two, depending on the needs, setting and size of the building.

Double the security

Double the security

The system comprises between 39,000 and 85 million different cylinders per master key: in other words, it is virtually impossible to produce two identical keys within the chosen system.

CISA guarantees safe key duplication thanks to its patented solutions.
Keys for CISA patented systems can only be duplicated at the 240 CISA Solution Partners or 700 CISA authorised centers.
The Security Card supplied with the system contains a customised code so only the holder can request a duplicate key.

  • Certified protection against snapping and tearing (patented SNAP RESISTANT technology).
  • Certified protection against bumping (patented BKP – Bump Key Power technology).
  • High resistance to picking (patented system with new floating drivers).
  • Certified protection against drilling (bitting system in hardened steel).
  • High resistance to forced entry using wax impression (special configuration of the springs).

A simple system for complex applications

Master key systems are essential in complex facilities where, as the number of people, locks and rooms increases, it becomes necessary to control access using keys with different levels of authorisation. Master key systems reduce the number of keys in circulation and make organisation and control a lot easier.

Keyed alike system

One key opens all doors in the home.

Common entrance system

One key opens communal areas and your apartment door only.

Master key system

Every key opens its own door. The master key opens all doors.

Grand master key system

Unlike the MK, it allows hierarchical access control.

Advantages for all apliccation scenarios

A master key system can be configured to meet the different needs of residential or non-residential buildings.

It is ideal for private homes and large apartment buildings because it is both practical and secure and means no more heavy bunches of keys. A single key, with a customised combination, opens both private and communal accesses.
It is an advantage for non-residential buildings because there are fewer keys to manage and hierarchy and access control throughout the building are easier.

RECOMMENDED SYSTEM: KA

With the keyed alike system, you can manage all the accesses in your home: one key opens different entrances like doors, gates and garages.

3L rekeyable function: this allows you to deactivate a stolen or lost key without having to change all the cylinders in the doors. All you have to do is rekey them by entering a higher level key and then make duplicates of that one (this is allowed twice).

Construction key function
This allows the home owner to use the master key to deactivate any construction keys in use up to then.

Home owner: one key opens all entrances.
The system can easily be expanded if another building, garage or outbuilding is purchased.
There is no need to replace the cylinders if the key is lost or stolen (3L function).
Lower key duplication costs.

RECOMMENDED SYSTEM: CE

From traditional access management involving multiple keys to a master key system, offering a safer and more practical option for residents.

A single key with a customised combination
A single key with a customised combination opens both the locks of the communal entrances (pedestrian gate, main entrance door and garage area) and the private locks of the apartment, cellar and garage.

One key, two uses
With the common entrance system, the key is “divided” into two parts: one for the communal areas and the other for private entrances.

For the apartment building
The single master key opens the resident’s apartment and the communal areas. This ensures maximum security: only the owner can enter their home.
The arrangement of the communal entrances allows the residents to have the single master key at all times, without having to bother the other owners.
Lower key duplication costs.

For the building administrator
With a single maintenance key, the administrator has access to all the communal areas.

RECOMMENDED SYSTEM: MK, GMK

The systems best suited for use in a business, commercial, office or school environment are the MK (master key system) and GMK (grand master key system) types.

Security and profiling
With MK (master key system) and GMK (grand master key system) type solutions, the flow of people is organised by groups according to their responsibilities and roles, ensuring maximum security.

Hierarchical access
Within large organisations, it is essential to have clear and well-defined structures in place for access control. At the highest level of the system, the heads of departments and managers can have unrestricted access to large areas of the building.
At intermediate level, managers and small teams will be enabled to access specific areas only. Finally, the employees who only need access to their office or workspace.

Facility/security manager

Simplified access organisation.

  • Lower key duplication costs.
  • Controlled duplication thanks to the Security Card.
  • Management of responsibilities in extraordinary events.

Management
One key opens all doors, including their private office.

Staff
One key for the main entrance and the areas within their authority.

Cleaning / Maintenance company
One key for the areas within their authority.

Caretaker / Security
One key to manage external accesses.

RECOMMENDED SYSTEM: GMK

In a hospital setting, where the security and protection of certain areas is essential (operating theatres, wards, pharmaceutical stores, etc.), a GMK system enables precise and hierarchical access control.

Hierarchical access configuration
There are three levels in a typical GMK:

  • Level 1 – The grand master key (GMK) unlocks all cylinders at all sites.
  • Level 2 – The master key (MK) will unlock all cylinders within a specific building on the site.
  • Level 3 – The sub-master key (SMK) unlocks specific departments or areas within one of the buildings.

This allows for the structured allocation of access rights based on the needs of individual users who use the building.

Security manager and director

  • One key opens all accesses.
  • Lower key duplication costs.
  • Controlled duplication thanks to the Security Card.
  • Management of ordinary and extraordinary responsibilities.

Head of Department
One key opens all doors in the department.

Medical / nursing staff
Access granted according to duties

Cleaning / maintenance company
One key for the areas within their authority.

RECOMMENDED SYSTEM: MK, GMK

Both the MK and GMK systems are well suited for use in the hospitality sector (hotels, B&Bs, holiday apartment complexes). The system makes it possible to create differentiated and hierarchical accesses for different zones (storerooms and warehouses, offices, rooms, etc.)

Security and profiling
The MK (master key system) and GMK (grand master key system) type solutions With these solutions, the flow of guests and staff is organised in a secure manner to facilitate everyday running of the hotel and ensure guest privacy and safety.

The use of master key systems in hotels is perhaps the best-known example, even to those unfamiliar with such solutions: we all know that hotel management generally has master keys for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms. These are, in fact, the Master Keys.

Emergency management
Only the holders of the emergency key can enter in the event of an alarm.

Owner

  • Access to all areas.
  • Lower key duplication costs
  • Controlled duplication thanks to the Security Card
  • Management of responsibilities in extraordinary events

Management / reception
Access to all areas except the owner’s private quarters.

Staff
Access to all rooms for maintenance and housekeeping.

Guest
One key gives you access to your room and the communal areas. The privacy function allows you to lock your door from the inside to prevent undesired entry.
